What is the difference between 9U and 9U pre-competitive?
9U is our regular programming and ends with the school season. 9U Pre-competitive are for players looking for more and wanting to play at the AA/AAA level as they get older. The intent of the 9U Pre-competitve team is to possibly play ball into July and attend provincials at the 11UA level.

Yes there is. BMBA will hold a tryout in late March/early April for the pre-competitive teams. If your player is successful, there will be a level up fee.
When are the nights of play?
9U will have practices Tuesday and Thursday with games on Sunday. 9U Pre-competitive will have practices Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday with games on TBD
Where do we play?
Practices will be held in Beaumont. Games will occur in Beaumont and Leduc.
***New for 2026
Baseball Alberta is looking to create a local capital region league for 9U. Although details are not finalized, we are excited for these potential changes. We don't know the full details, but will educate our members as soon as we know more.
For those interested, a tryout joint provincial team between BMBA and Leduc will be made to participate in the 11U A provincials after June to mid-July.
Additional development is anticipated for all divisions and a jamboree will run on the Beaumont Jays Diamond.
